Crazy Nights!

Paul had a job today, it was only suppose to be a few hours.  He came home at 5pm and decided to make some toast because he had not had lunch (didn't think he would be working that long).  Our toast picks and choses when it work and this was one of those times it didn't work.  It was burnt...not too bad but not to eating quality.  The boys had been begging all day to put up the Christmas Tree I kept telling them 'when daddy gets home.'  Daddy was then home so they again began to beg.  I decided it would be a good idea to vacuum the floor first, since a glass object had been stepped on (by me) and broke all over.  I got about a foot done and realized it wasn't picking up anything.  I don't know what it is about vacuum cleaners and me, but we don't like each other.  I have horrible luck with them.  My first one was a very expensive filter queen. alittle over a year ago I vacuumed up an ember from the fireplace.  Yes, there was smoke involved and it was NOT from the fireplace.  The next two were hand-me-downs and after I used them one belt went out and the other one just died.  Now I have a very expensive one from my grandparents and we got the filter queen fixed (yae) just to discover that the head of the latter no longer will go around.  So here we are with just the one from my grandparents...but I had to vacuum the dogs room before we left for Thanksgiving (BAD IDEA) and now Paul is trying to fix the vacuum.  I figured he was being so nice to me I'd try and make him some toast.  So here he is in the middle of try to fix it and I'm going through toys trying to get rid of baby ones that none of the 3 kids have ever played with when all of a sudden I hear the boys yelling "Mom Mom!  HURRY!"  As I rush into (okay more like leasurely walk into) the kitchen there is smoke billowing out of the toaster at which point the fire alarm starts going off.  Needless to say I had to take care of the burnt beyond recognition toast while Paul took a detour from the vacuum to turn off the fire alarm.  And of course to top it all off Zerah is being completely clingy and won't let anyone put her down so she is crawling after him crying.

Its just another day in Paradise!
