Crazy Blessings in Paradise

So this is my newest creation!  I am known in my family for "making" recipes...that I later can't repeat LOL.  On Christmas Eve I wanted to make Ham and Potato soup.  I messaged my sister for the recipe she uses.  But she didn't get back to me in time.  So...here is what we ended up with.  And it was DELICIOUS! (this is whats left) 6 potatoes chopped and peeled 1 cup of baby carrots chopped 1 cup of celery chopped 1/2 cup of corn 1 cup of ham torn up, cut up, cubed...whatever put in pot of water and boiled in sauce pan I combined 2c water, 12/c flour, and  3T corn starch...continue stiring until thick paste add to pot of potatoes and veggies Stir in well Add 1c cheddar cheese Add in (to taste, how ever much you feel is right for your family.  We lean toward lost of garlic) garlic, black pepper, salt, basil, dried onion, parsley Let simmer for 30 minutes YUM!!

We made our own ornaments tonight out of Corn Starch and Baking Soda.  Was fun and easy!  Added cinnamon for color!  The Modge Podge smeared the pictures but they still turned out pretty cute.  If anyone has any ideas of how NOT to get the pictures to smear let me know!

Paul had a job today, it was only suppose to be a few hours.  He came home at 5pm and decided to make some toast because he had not had lunch (didn't think he would be working that long).  Our toast picks and choses when it work and this was one of those times it didn't work.  It was burnt...not too bad but not to eating quality.  The boys had been begging all day to put up the Christmas Tree I kept telling them 'when daddy gets home.'  Daddy was then home so they again began to beg.  I decided it would be a good idea to vacuum the floor first, since a glass object had been stepped on (by me) and broke all over.  I got about a foot done and realized it wasn't picking up anything.  I don't know what it is about vacuum cleaners and me, but we don't like each other.  I have horrible luck with them.  My first one was a very expensive filter queen. alittle over a year ago I vacuumed up an ember from the fireplace.  Yes, there was smoke i...

I'm a semi mom lol.   I'm semi crunchy and a semi unschooler.  -I baby wear, but I also use the stroller and carseat carrier -I have my baby in my room (not by choice) but I do not co-sleep -I breastfeed but I also bottle feed with formula -I cloth diaper during the day but use disposables at night -I have a garden and can but I buy alot of canned goods and produce from the store -I make some things from scratch but I also get frozen meals as well -I can sew and make things but I rarely do because its easier to buy them LOL -I use home remedies but I also use over the counter and RX -I use life lessons and other non-conventional learning ideas but also do some curriculum and workbooks 

Alright Moms...I have 19...yes NINETEEN bad bananas I need to do SOMETHING with!  HELP!  Its a rainy fall day and a perfect time to make banana bread...but there has got to be something else I can do with all these bananas or we will be eating ALOT of banana bread this year LOL.

        I have a bunch of friends that have blogs and what not...they seem perfect.  Everything they post is the nicest perfect house homeschool moms.  I...am not one of them.  Honestly it always makes me feel bad because I am not one of them and I don't seem to be able to get it together.  But I am what I am and who I am in God.  I'm not perfect, my life is not perfect.  I would love to make homemade bread and crock pot meals, to have my house presentable for company 24/7, my kids to do school and love it 4 hours a day, making an income from home some how, going out with friends every week, and being that perfect wife and person.  But I AM NOT that person.  As much as I would love to be, I just have not been able to.  I feel too busy to make food from scratch, my kids are everywhere and I can't keep up with house work, my son and I fight for 2 hours a day to get school done, I am untalen...
